Hi Dolls! Some of you have mentioned on Instagram you would like to see some hair braid tutorials. Here is one I am loving! It can be changed up in so many different and unique ways. When I first posted this on IG, I started with a dutch braid, then did a couple fishtail braids. Here I have a done a dutch braid, then a regular braid, then finished off the bottom with another dutch braid.
For this style all you need is a curling wand (if you prefer the waves, you could do this with straight hair), clear elastics, and some hair texturizing spray or powder. I am using Bumble and Bumble Pret-A-Powder. Check it out Here. This style works great on second day hair as well, as it won't have as much slip as clean hair.
Start by making two dutch braids on either side. A dutch braid is just an upside down french braid, so when doing this instead of crossing over the strands on top, just cross them underneath. Then using one of your clear elastics, tie both sides braids together.
Next you can pancake the dutch braid. This means pulling all the sections out carefully to make it look messier and much fuller.
Next, take a small section from under the braid and wrap it around the elastic so you can't see it. You can either tuck it back into the elastic, or secure it with a bobby pin. Then, add some more to the ponytail portion, and start your next braid of choice. Here I just did a regular braid, but as I mentioned you can also do something like a fishtail braid here.
If you prefer, you can stop here. I wrapped the elastic again, and then added another upside down dutch braid.
You can then add in any flowers or hair accessories if you'd like. I added some gold Grecian-style leaves.
Let me know if you have any questions!
